Review of Lifeline USA Kettlebells

For new our Kettlebell Boot Camp in Campbell, CA I decided to try Lifeline USA kettlebells.
Service: Ordered through Lifeline USA website. Not the friendliest website but after finding kettlebells ordering was easy. Kettlebells were shipped that same week.
Price: Very reasonable pricing. Received 2x8kg, 2x12kg, 1x16kg, and 1x20kg for $373.56 That’s $62.26 per kettlebell including shipping and handling. Not bad. I would have spent $509.70 with DragonDoor + couple hundred more for shipping(well over $100 per kettlebell).
Quality: I found coating on the handle to be a bit rough on hands. Had to smooth it out with sand paper. Coating also tends to scratch easily, leaving white/gray marks. Otherwise, very solid product.
Shape: 12kb and heavier bells from Lifeline USA kettlebell line are identical in shape to DragonDoor kettlebells. My clients and trainers can’t tell the difference.
Shape of Lifeline USA 8kg kettlebell is different and better than DragonDoor’s 8kg. It features thicker handle and smaller body. I find that thicker handle offers superior control, making it easier to learn more technical lifts like snatches.
Value: Lifeline USA kettlebells offer incredible value and quality.
Summary
Got it right:
- Price
- Shape and design
- Overall quality
- Service – quick shipment
Needs improvement:
- Website experience
- Coating could be improved

I agree! I have a 16kg KB from Dragon Door that I am very pleased with, but when I needed to order a second KB I decided to give Lifeline a try. The KBs are, as stated, identical in size and shape which makes 2 KB exercises easy to do. Lifeline had MUCH better prices than DD, but I agree that their website is not user-friendly at all. Overall, though, I would highly recommend Lifeline.

Hi Denis,
Great site! I was wondering about where you got your postural training and how you use it in your kettlebell training? Also, I’m looking to buy some kettlebells for my training studio and was wondering what your take is on competition sized bells. My teacher, who has certs in RKC, AKC, and IKFF likes the AKC bells because they are all the same size and easy for people to transition with when they move up in weight. I looked at the elite bells from perform better but they are epoxy coated. I know that from using bells from kettlebell connection, epoxy can be both slippery and sticky. What are your objective thoughts on purchasing a line of bells that most people will find enjoyable to work with?
Sincerely,
Erik Petersen

I would worry about sanding anything made in China because of the possiblity of lead paint. Buy a bell that doesn’t sanding.
Full disclosure: I am a RKC and I am able to pick the bells up instead of shipping them.

Randy,
Unless I’m mis-reading the site, Lifeline USA Kettlebells are “Made in the USA”..
That’s how I found them, I was looking for something NOT made in China for a change..
From the site -
“Description
The most popular workouts today involve kettlebells. It’s no surprise. Kettlebells offer a much greater range of motion for increased muscular endurance. Due to the displaced center of gravity, kettlebells are much harder to control, placing increased demands on agility, core stabilization and coordination.
100% made in the USA!
Kettlebells come with:
One Kettlebell
Three E-book training guides sent via email”
Shrug..
Placing my order today.. Guess we’ll see.

The 35lb Lifeline USA kettlebell was delivered this week, and got a chance to try it Friday. (not sure what happened to the ebooks)
The handle is thicker than the handle on my GoFit 25lb kettlebell.. A bit harder to keep a hold on.. Wish it were a touch thinner..
Besides that, seems to be great. Started out using the Lifeline USA 35lb KB for 30 swings, then 2 sets of 30 w/ the old 25, a break then repeated.. 30 (35lb), 30, (25lb), 30 (25lb). .. Looking forward to more use.

Did they redo their website recently? The site I was on (lifelineusa.com) was pretty straightforward. And yeah, I couldn’t find a better price anywhere else.
I kind of like the surface on the handles though, it’s a bit rough, but the grip I get on these is so much better than epoxy or smooth finishes. I have huge hands, and the thick handle is such a great change from other brands I’ve used in the past.
Overall, I haven’t had a complaint about the Lifeline bells. Love the DD’s too, but damn….. $$$$$$$$
