If it becomes out of balance your entire structural system will become unbalanced. People need to keep moving but they also need to look at the tight and weak muscles (weak meaning lowered nerve supply), lower back joints , and pelvic balance. Otherwise back pain will remain and walking will at best temporarily ease things. Stretching is great but you need to know what to stretch, when to stretch and how to stretch effectively. Stretching is only part of the routine you should do to keep free of back pain. Yes people sit a lot - and a lot get back pain - and a lot don't. Those that sit a lot and don't have back pain have a good functioning structural system. There are so many things you can learn to do to help. Good article as it helps educate those to help prevent back pain. I do a lot of walking because I have 2 dogs and then because I volunteer one afternoon a week to walk dogs at my SPCA. I never thought about how walking would realign my body - it definitely realigns my mind! Viveca Excellent info.
